What is the difference between clipping path and masking in Photoshop?

Clipping path is created and drawn in Adobe Photoshop using Pen tool. The purpose of clipping path is to remove the background of an image or object flawlessly. The results are great using clipping path in Photoshop and the process is not that intricate as it seems to be. Rather image masking service in Photoshop is somewhat complex and especially for those images that have sharp edges. Results of both the services are perfect.
